It’s official! The Pantone Color Institute has declared “Greenery” as their color of the year for 2017.
Pantone Color Institute’s spokesperson told Forbes, “There’s a growing desire to reconnect with nature and what is real, and find ways to disconnect from technology. We need a break. We need to stop and breathe.”
“Bringing forth a refreshing take, Greenery is a tangy yellow-green that speaks to our need to explore, experiment and reinvent. Illustrative of flourishing foliage, the fertile attributes of Greenery signals one to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
If you’re ready to refresh your home, and if you’re ready to “explore” and “reinvigorate” your space, why not start with Greenery?
Bringing the outside, in
It’s a bright color that can bring some life to a room, even when used in small doses. In and of itself, the color green brings to mind nature and the outdoors, so bring them inside by adding a colorful throw or pillow to your room, or perhaps by hanging a new piece of artwork.
During this time of celebrating the new year, green is also symbolic of prosperity, freshness, and progress. It is the color of the heart chakra, linked to a healthy heart & lungs—a beautiful breath of freshness.
So, bring greenery in and sit back and enjoy the brightness of your room—especially during the cold, gray days of winter.
